The production process includes vacuum distillation, followed by solvent extraction, hydrotreating, hydrocracking, and dewaxing depending on the desired purity and performance characteristics. Lubricant base oils are categorized into API Groups I to V, with Group I-III being mineral-based and Groups IV-V being synthetic.

Origin: Derived from crude petroleum through various refining methods, or synthetically manufactured. Used as the foundational fluid in most lubricant formulations.
Appearance: Clear, transparent oils ranging from light to dark in color based on the refining level and group classification.
Taste: Not applicable – strictly for industrial and automotive use.
