Palm Fatty Acid Distillate (PFAD)
Specialty-products
PFAD is a byproduct obtained during the physical refining of crude palm oil. The refining process involves steam distillation which removes free fatty acids, impurities, and volatiles from the oil. The separated fatty acids and residues condense to form PFAD.
