Testing Oils (ASTM Standards)

Industrial-oils

Produced via controlled refining processes such as distillation, hydroprocessing, and filtration to ensure high purity, consistent composition, and stability. Each ASTM grade is formulated to exhibit specific characteristics (e.g., volatility, oxidation stability, deposit-forming tendency) for comparative evaluation.

Product details

Origin: Specially refined mineral base oils, designed to meet exacting specifications set by ASTM International for standardized testing procedures.
Appearance: ASTM 1: Pale, almost water-clear oil, ASTM 2: Slightly darker than ASTM 1, ASTM 3: Amber to dark brown, higher tendency to form deposits
Taste: Not applicable – strictly for laboratory and technical use, not for human consumption.
Packaging: Bulk tankers, Flexi tanks, IBCs, 20L jerrycans
Certifications: ISO 22000, HACCP, Non-GMO

Applications

Used in engine testing and lubricant formulation testing to simulate engine oil performance under standardized conditions:

ASTM 1: For baseline oxidation and cleanliness testing

ASTM 2: For moderate severity engine deposit testing

ASTM 3: For high-severity deposit and sludge formation testing These oils serve as reference fluids in ASTM test methods such as Sequence V, VI, and others used by engine oil manufacturers and certifying bodies
